How much does DirecTV Stream cost?
The no-contract plans for DirecTV start at $69.99 per month. There are four different tiers available, a similar set of packages to what AT&T offered. This includes:
- $69.99 for the Entertainment Plan, which includes 65+ channels
- $84.99 for the Choice Plan, which includes 90+ channels
- $94.99 for the Ultimate Plan, which includes 130+ channels
- $139.99 for the Premier Plan, which includes 140+ channels
Part of the transition from AT&T to DirecTV includes dropping two-year contract plans which AT&T previously offered.
Does DirecTV offer DVR?
Every plan includes a 20-hour cloud DVR. Customers can upgrade to unlimited DVR for a $10-per-month charge. The plans do not include DirecTV’s Android TV streaming box. You can add one to a plan for $5 per month or use your own streaming box at no additional cost.
What channels are available with DirecTV Stream?
As mentioned above, you will get more channels by purchasing a more expensive package. Some popular channels included with DirecTV Stream are: TNT, MSNBC, History, Nickelodeon, TBS, the Travel Channel, USA Network, the Food Network, Fox News, the Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Comedy Central, the Cartoon Network, Bravo, BET, MAC, Syfy, the Paramount Network, VH1, the Hallmark Channel, ESPN, E! and many more.
Every DirecTV Stream subscriber also receives standard local channels like ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC and more.
Does DirecTV offer simultaneous streams?
Here’s where DirecTV sets itself apart from the competition. While most services only offer three to five simultaneous streams, DirecTV Stream offers 20. If you want more than that, you can pay to upgrade. It’s worth noting that this comes with a caveat—it’s 20 simultaneous streams in the same home.

If you don’t have a device, AT&T will allow you to rent one for $5 per month with DirecTV Stream preloaded on it. This device is an Android TV box that AT&T provides its customers. You can use it in the same way as any other Android TV box such as adding apps, using Google Assistant, etc.
What about existing AT&T customers?
Existing customers will be automatically switched from AT&T TV to DirecTV Stream. All you need to do is update the app when prompted.
